YOGYAKARTA: The Palapa Team of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) recently won first place in a robot contest participated by universities in Central Java and Yogyakarta.
Teams from Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula) in Semarang and the National Institute of Technology (STTN) in Yogyakarta won second and third place, respectively.
Aside from bringing home trophies and certificates, the winners will be entered in the national-level robot competition scheduled for June.
"The participants to the robot contest are of the younger generation. They give hope amidst the difficulties the nation is now facing," said UGM rector Sudjarwadi during the closing of the competition on Sunday, May 18.
The robot competition is aimed at forging friendships among universities in Central Java and Yogyakarta. - JP
