Jakarta to host junior world golf event

JAKARTA: At least 144 golfers from 23 countries have confirmed they will take part in the Enjoy Jakarta World Junior Golf Championship, organizers said Wednesday.

The championship will be held at Damai Indah Golf Course in Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta, from June 3 to 6.

"The tournament aims to boost the achievements of our junior golfers through a world-class competition," the organizers said in a statement.

The tournament is also part of a tourism drive to promote the city as part of the Enjoy Jakarta program organized by the Jakarta administration to mark the city's 481st anniversary, which falls on June 22.

The tournament will feature individual and team events across several age divisions. --JP
