Indonesia sends 10 junior chess players to ASEAN championships

The Indonesian Chess Association (Percasi) is sending 10
players to the ASEAN age-group chess competition to be held in Da
Nang, Vietnam from June 10 to 18, Percasi said in a statement
Friday.
In the boys' division, the players are Rian Kapriaga in the
18-year group, Farid Firman Syah in the 16-year group, Masruri
Rahman and Sean Winshand in the 12-year group, and Musa Kadzim,
Azarya Jodi and Jovi Faga in the 10-year group.
In the girls' division, the players are Medina Warda and
Julisa Pasaribu in the 12-year group and Dita Karenza in the 8-
year group.
Percasi is financing five players, while the Jakarta
provincial administration is financing three and the Bangka
Belitung Islands provincial administrations is sending two
players.
Chess players from Australia, India and South Korea are also
invited to the championships.
There are three events of 90-minute standard chess with an
increment of 30 seconds for every step, 25-minute rapid chess and
5-minute blitz chess.
A total of 72 gold medals are available in both the individual
and team events. (****)
