The holiday season is just around the corner, but for people on tight schedules and budgets, it's not always easy to get away.
Instead get a taste of the best of Italian food, fashion and technology at the Italian Festival 2008, which is organized by the Italian Trade Commission and The Sogo Food Hall.
The monthlong event, which was launched on May 27 by Italian Ambassador to Indonesia Roberto Palmieri, is being held at Sogo Food Halls in Jakarta and Surabaya.
It was organized to commemorate the country's national day, which fell on June 2. Also present at the opening ceremony was the Italian Trade Commissioner in Jakarta, Angelo Infusino.
Included in the event are in-store promotions for top brands like Bruno Magli, Alberta Ferretti, Max Mara, Gianni Versace, Emporio Armani, and Bvlgari at Plaza Indonesia.
Cooking demonstrations by Chef Claudio Cucchiarelli from the Bruschetta Restaurant Borobudur Hotel will be held every weekend until June 22 at The Food Halls at Pondok Indah Mall, Plaza Senayan, Senayan City, and Grand Indonesia.
