Forum: Govt calls it a day for Ahmadiyah

I am a Muslim. But to the Ahmadis, I am not fully a Muslim because I reject Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the sect's founder, as a prophet, the promised messiah or whatever he claimed to be more than 100 years ago.

Ahmadis should not pretend that Muslims who don't subscribe to Ahmadi beliefs are really Muslims. Ask an Ahmadi whether he can pray behind a prayer leader or imam who is not a Muslim.

Ask an Ahmadi whether he swears allegiance to the Khalifatul Masih in London, or if the latter must repent for being sinful and not converting to Ahmadism.

To me the Ahmadiyah sect is a religion of its own. It may have some similarities with Islam in terms of its religious practice, such as praying five times a day, fasting and zakat. But no Ahmadi is allowed to go to Mecca and Medina simply because these holy cities are barred to non-Muslims.

If you find an Ahmadi who has been to Mecca and Medina, that man or woman must have lied about his/her religious belief by claiming himself/herself as Muslim. It's true that even though I am a Muslim, I am not seen to be one by the Ahmadis because I reject Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

To Ahmad Osman:

According to the Ahmadiyah themselves Mirza Ghulam Ahmad never claimed prophethood and if you read their website it says that Ahmadis consider Muhammad the seal of the prophets.

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed to be the Mahdi, not a prophet. If you believe the Mahdi is a prophet then obviously you don't believe Muhammad was the last one. So how are you confused? I left references for the information here (see Ahmadiyah's website); where is yours?

I read with interest the posting by Ahmad Osman on the issue of Ahmadis and the Ahmadiyah sect. Is it true that an Ahmadi would not pray behind a prayer leader or an imam who is not an Ahmadi? If that is the case, it means a Muslim is not really "Muslim" in the eyes of the Ahmadis (who claim to be true Muslims).

I am also surprised that before a Muslim can swear allegiance (bai at) to become an Ahmadi, he must first renounce his beliefs and repents his sins. This means that Muslims are sinners unless they convert to Ahmadiyah's religion.

This also means that an Ahmadi insists on calling himself Muslim because he believes others who call themselves Muslims are not "true Muslims", as the latter reject Mirza as a prophet, the promised messiah, the mahdi, Prophet Isa.

It also means that the mission of the Prophet Muhammad to establish Islam failed because Allah had to appoint another prophet after him, i.e. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, to do the job.

Do the Ahmadis also believe there are other prophets of God after Mirza Ghulam Ahmad? If they say that God has not appointed a prophet after Mirza, it means that Mirza was indeed the last prophet, and not Prophet Muhammad (assuming we believe in the prophethood of Mirza).

I want to inform you that the Indonesian government is following in the footsteps of the Pakistani government, which obeyed the mullahs, and now Pakistan is in danger and Allah is punishing Pakistanis for their crimes.

I will demand the Indonesian government be strict in dealing with extremists. If not, one day they will do to Indonesia as they have done to Pakistan.

I will demand also the Indonesian people not be used by the mullahs. If you are informed of the Ahmadiyah community let them clarify. They do not have the faith that is declared by these mullahs.

Every intellectual should himself read the Ahmadi books and decide if they are wrong. May God guide the Indonesian government and may they be capable of learning from the Pakistani situation.

So it is now a criminal offense to believe something about the spiritual status of people who are dead. Well, I believe that the government that appears to be alive (although barely so) is completely bonkers and it is time for it to go. Is that a criminal offense too?
