If Barack Obama becomes the next U.S. president, it will have a significant impact on Indonesian-U.S. relations. It will bring even closer ties in politics, social relationships and economic development.

If Obama is elected U.S president, I hope relations between Indonesia and the United States will be better, especially in trying to overcome global warming. I hope Obama wants to decrease carbon emission from his country and join the Kyoto protocol.

People are naive to believe that Obama can undo the damage caused by the Bush administration in the United States and globally. U.S. politics and business are controlled by the Jewish lobby.
In the end, it's all about money and business. Even Obama cannot fight that. Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq are all about money and business for the United States, and have little to do with democracy or freedom.
As long as the United States blindly supports Israel, Obama will not be able to change the status quo in the Middle East. But Obama is much better than McCain, who could be worse than the current incumbent. In the end, let's hope that Americans can choose wisely.

If Obama is elected, there will be a good impact on Indonesian-U.S. relations. It will be tighter because Obama has the same points of view with Indonesia.
Not to mention that he spent his childhood in Indonesia during his early education. I hope that Indonesians will be able to get a vise more easily if he is elected president.

With Obama as the president, the United States ought to develop stronger diplomatic ties with Indonesia.

The minority of Americans who may be able to locate Indonesia on a map could increase if Obama were elected president.

What impact? Absolutely nil, just because he spent four years of his childhood in Indonesia? I hope McCain wins in November.

There will be no significant impact on Indonesia if Obama is elected U.S. president. It's only emotional effect and a big free promo for us.

In 2000, Al Gore won the popular vote but George Bush became U.S. President. It was a terrible experience for The Democrats. Revise the U.S. President Election System and the Democratic Party Presidential Nominee Recruitment system. Popular vote should determine the winner. Respect every voter's right.

I think the relations between the United States and Indonesia will be better. Obama used to live in Indonesia. It means Obama is able to know about Indonesia in more detail and know what advantages can be achieved through a relationship with our country.

If Obama is elected, Indonesia-U.S. relations may be better than now. We may get advantages. But the relations may be worse.

I hope Obama will be able to help Indonesia get out of this economy crisis.
SUSILO WULAN
I hope that Obama will strengthen diplomatic ties between Indonesia and the United States in the field of education.

Obama will bring about a good impact for Indonesia-U.S economic relationship.

I hope Senator Obama will make a stronger political relationship between Indonesia and the United States. If the political relationship gets better, it will have another good impact on other sectors such as economic, diplomatic, education, etc. Hopefully.

Isn't it sad to see the dream of ex-president Bill Clinton's wife, Hillary Clinton, to become the "First Lady" of United States so ignominiously crashed? What a pity. K.B. KALE

I hope that Senator Obama will improve economic and social relations with Indonesia and also to regain Indonesia's credibility before the international world.

When Barack Obama is elected, he will be little bit partial towards the Indonesian relations with United States and as a result maybe the conditions in different aspects can be improved.

I don't think relations between the United States and Indonesia will be any better. Since the first day he won the nomination, he promised to tighten relations with Israel and ensure Jerusalem will always be its capital city. Obama represents the great struggle of a minority. I admire him, but U.S. international relations will always be the same.

I think it won't bring about any big impact to the relationship between the two countries because in international diplomacy, professionalism is really needed. But who knows.
