JAKARTA: After his The Intimate Concert success in several cities last month, singer Glenn Fredly launched his new album, titled Private Collection.
"The launch aims to complete Glenn's creativity this year," Sony-BMG manager, Juhana, was quoted by Antara in Jakarta.
The 12-song album comprises Glenn's 12 hit songs which were given fresh arrangement. The hits included "Habis" (Running Out), "Januari" (January, a duet with saxophonist Kenny G.), "Janjiku" (My Promise) and "Belum Saatnya" (It's Not the Time).
Glenn said previously that he was preparing an album to meet demand from his fans.
"Maybe the album can serve as a way to console my fans in Medan (North Sumatra), Makassar (South Sulawesi) and Manado (North Sulawesi)," he said.
The singer earlier planned to stage the concert in the three cities but had to drop them following the government's move to raise fuel prices.
Concert manager Jeffry Waworuntu of the Ruth Sahanaya Production said the shows in Medan, Makassar and Manado had been canceled until the situation improves. The rise of fuel prices, he said, increased production costs, the main reason behind the cancellation. -- JP
