Xinhua News Agency says eight people have been killed in the collapse of a four-story building under construction in central China.
Xinhua says 100 rescuers are searching Sunday for missing workers. It is unclear how many people were on the site when the building collapsed Saturday in a suburb of Wuhan city.
Xinhua says 13 people have ben rescued from the rubble and taken to hospitals. Large equipment is having trouble getting to the site because of narrow alleyways in the neighborhood.
Authorities say the construction of the residential building is illegal because it has not been approved by the local government. The cause of the collape is under investigation.(**)
