'Blue energy' inventor responds to police summon

Controversial blue energy inventor Djoko Suprapto arrived at the Yogyakarta Police on Monday to respond a deception allegation filed by Muhammadiyah University, Yogyakarta.

Djoko, who claimed to invent a water-based fuel called blue energy, underwent a medical test in the police office to determine whether or not he is healthy enough to be grilled.

"We must ensure that Djoko is in a good health. Otherwise we can not start our investigation," Yogyakarta Police Special Crime head Adj. Sr. Comr. Agung Yudha said.

Djoko's lawyer Susantio has requested the police not to arrest his client because he is currently suffered a heart disease and diabetes.

Djoko was reported to the police by Muhammadiyah University, Yogyakarta, for deceiving the university in their joint power plant project known as Jodipati.

The university has claimed it suffered losses of Rp 1.3 billion (US$140,000) because of Djoko's project. (***)
