Olga Lydia directs short film

JAKARTA: Actress Olga Lydia, the host of popular TV political parody Republik Mimpi (Republic of Dreams) has finally fulfilled her dreams of becoming a film director.

"Finally I got it (my dream) ... although it's just a short film," Olga was quoted as saying by okezone.com on Tuesday, without revealing the title of the short film.

The 32-year-old actress, who started her career as a model, revealed she learned film making skills from her friends and through reading books before she started directing the film.

"I'm still learning from my friends and reading many references," Olga, who has also played in some wide screen films, said.

She said she would also produce a movie version of Republik Mimpi. -- JP
