Indonesian state-run bus firm Damri will serve the Pontianak-Kuching-Brunei route on Sept. 1 as part of an east ASEAN growth area agreement.

"The Indonesian government appoints Damri to serve the route, while Brunei appoints JPS," Sahar Andika Putra, the transportation attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, said Sunday.

Eight buses each from the two firms have been prepared to serve the route, he added.

One-way trip by bus in the 1,200-kilometer long route will take 35 hours. (***)
