An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale shook Tolitoli regency, Central Sulawesi, on Thursday at 2:02 a.m. local time.
The tremor's epicenter was located 72 km north of Tolitoli at a depth of 30 km below ground level, according to the national meteorological and geophysics office.
The relatively strong earthquake forced a number of residents to get out of bed, but did not trigger a tsunami because the epicenter was not located at sea. (**)
