Indonesian users of Friendster can now enjoy a new service allowing them to be notified through their cellular phones whenever their friends add new comments or messages.

The Internet social networking provider launched the service, dubbed "Text Alerts", here at the Hard Rock Café on Friday.

At the same time, Friendster also announced the full implementation of its peer-to-peer service, which allows companies or individual users to publicize their own software applications through Friendster's networks.

Friendster is currently the biggest Internet social networking provider in Asia Pacific with about 33 million users and the third biggest in the world with 55 million users. (and)
