LIPI awards two inventors

JAKARTA: The Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) marked its 41st anniversary Saturday by presenting Inventor Awards on Saturday to its two senior researchers, Sunartoto and Enny Sudarmonowati.
Sunartoto, a former LIPI deputy chairman, and Enny, a researcher of the institute's biotechnology research center, won the awards for their respective innovative researches.
"They have obtained patent certificates for the results of their research activities," LIPI head of innovation center Syahrul Aiman said.
On Tuesday, Vice President Jusuf Kalla will open a two-day workshop on food and nutrition hosted by the LIPI. Some 700 researchers, academics and professionals from state agencies will attend the event. -- JP
