Indonesia trounces Myanmar 4-0

Indonesia booked a convincing 4-0 win over Myanmar, although both teams progressed to the semifinals of the Independence Cup soccer tournament at Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on Monday. Arif Suyono scored a pair of goals while Budi Sudarsono and Bambang Pamungkas added one apiece to send Indonesia atop Group A with six points. Bambang and teammates will take on their juniors -- Indonesia's under-21 team -- in the semifinals while Myanmar as Group A runner-up faces Libya, which topped Group B after earning its second win with a crushing 5-1 romp over Brunei Darussalam earlier in the day. Cambodia in Group A and Brunei in Group B were eliminated after ending the tournament with two losses. The semifinal matches will take place on Wednesday. --JP
