The General Elections Commission (KPU) will send back the files of two legislator candidates who are registered in two parties.

"The parties have the right to replace or deny the candidates," said KPU member Endang Sulastri, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

She said there were at least two candidates registered in two parties, Ade Daud Nasution and Dyah Defawati Ande.

Nasution and Ande were registered in the Reform Star Party (PBR) during the 2004 general elections and their names are still included on that party's candidate registration list. But Nasution is also registered with in the National Mandate Party (PAN) and Ande is registered with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).

Endang said the parties could report candidates with double membership based on the provisional registration list, to be released Sept. 26.

The KPU will send back incomplete and problem registration forms on Sept. 7, giving parties until Sept. 16 to re-register. (dre)
