Scores of Transjakarta bus drivers
serving the Corridor II (Pulo Gadung – Harmoni) and Corridor III (Kalideres –
Harmoni) have gone on strike since early Monday
morning
According to reports by Kompas.com,
106 of a total of 114 drivers serving the two routes, which serves 30,000 and 27,000
passengers respectively per day, have gathered at the Batavia pool on Jl.
Perintis Kemerdekaan to demand a pay raise and improvement of working conditions.
Transjakarta Operations Control Manager Rene Nunu Mete said the company had undertaken necessary measures in alleviating the disruptions due to the strike.
"We've added extra fleets from Corridor I, V, VII and IV," he said. “The management are now lobbying with the drivers.” (amr)
