JAYAPURA, Papua: The Papua General Elections Commission (KPU) on Wednesday returned all files of legislative candidates recently submitted by 38 political parties.

KPU Papua member Hasyim Sangaji revealed that 1,283 candidates among 1,341 candidates, had met requirements, but none had complete documents yet.

"So, we returned all the files for completion," Hasyim said.

Only nine of the 38 parties had met the required 30 percent quota of female legislative candidates, he said.

These were: the Concern for Nation Function Party, the Crescent Star Party, the Indonesian Nahdlatul Ummah Party, the Indonesian Democracy Upholder Party, the National Bull Freedom Party, the Patriot Party, the National Ulema Awakening Party, the Pioneer Party and the Indonesian Youth Party.--JP
