The article in The Jakarta Post on Aug. 30 titled "Mulyani turns up the heat on Tommy," explaining how the finance minister tackled Tommy Soeharto's illicit financial affair, would certainly please most Indonesians.

Keep going Sri Mulyani. Forbes magazine has called you the 23rd most powerful woman walking this globe.

The Cendana family has enriched themselves far too long to the detriment of Indonesians. All members of this family should be X-rayed thoroughly.

Who will be next on the list? Does Sri Mulyani have enough guts to use her magic broom to clean up the mining companies and Pertamina? Certainly, they are only financially benefiting themselves and not the people -- gas and fuel prices go up when the notion strikes.

There is enough oil and gas in Indonesia for the domestic market. For the management of Pertamina it is, however, more lucrative to sell Indonesia's oil and gas abroad due to heavy domestic subsidies.

By importing oil for the domestic market Pertamina's management are able to line their pockets with billion-dollar commissions. Additionally the scandal involving the sale of a Pertamina tanker remains on the backburner.

The government cannot continually put a massive burden on the Indonesian people who are already sweating blood and tears to make ends meet.

Sri Mulyani is so right to go after individuals who have caused the state to lose billions. Keep going and save this country. You and Teten Masduki from Indonesia Corruption Watch are our only hope.
