President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Jusuf Kalla attended a fast-breaking gathering at the official
residence of Regional Representatives Council (DPD) chairman Ginandjar Kartasasmita in Jakarta on Sunday.
Also present were First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, chief security minister Widodo Adisucipto, State Minister for Administrative Reforms Taufik Effendi and Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) chairman
Anwar Nasution.
The gathering was preceded by a sermon by prominent Muslim scholar Quraisy Shihab.
In his speech, the President said the event was one of the gatherings between the government and state agencies.
"This gathering should be seen from the point of its value, not its symbolism," Yudhoyono said without elaborating, as quoted by

Earlier, the President had attended separate fast-breaking rituals at the residences of House of Representatives Speaker Agung Laksono and People's Consultative Assembly chairman Hidayat Nur Wahid.
