Second quake jolts Maluku

An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale shook Maluku on Sunday morning, the area's second quake in two days.
The Meteorology and Geophysics Agency' (BMG) said the epicenter of the quake was 77 kilometers northwest of Maluku's Samlaki Sea at a depth of 10 kilometers under the sea bed
BMG reported that the quake, which struck about 6.02 a.m. local time, was not strong enough to create a tsunami.
On Friday, another quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck 198 kilometers southwest of the Samlaki Sea and also affected Maluku. (dre)
