The three Indonesian athletes participating in the Paralympic Games have made it through classification tests and are set to compete next week.

"All the Indonesian athletes have passed their classification tests," said Kusnan Ismukanto, the Chef de Mission of the Indonesian Contingent, in Beijing on Sunday.

The classification tests are technical and physical assessments, of the type and degree of specific disabilities, to classify athletes in their respective sports and ensure fair competition.

Indonesia is represented by Lamri (swimming), Billy Zeth Makal (weightlifting) and Ida Yani (wheelchair tennis).

Ida will start her first game facing world no. 20 Arnoult Beth of U.S. on Sept. 8; Billy is scheduled for a 60-kilogram class weight lifting competition Sept. 11; and Lamri will participate in a 100-meter back-stroke race Sept. 13.

"Our athletes have trained proportionally and are ready to fight. I hope everything goes well," Ismukanto said. (dre)
