SBY presides over cabinet meeting on seedling

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called a limited Cabinet meeting on Monday to discuss the problems of seedlings after the Supertoy seed scandal publicly emerged.

Minister/State Secretary Hatta Rajasa said that the Cabinet meeting, however, would not specifically discuss the Supertoy seed scandal, but discuss the supplies of seeds and fertilizers
in general.

"I think that (the Supertoy case) is already being handled by the agriculture minister," Hatta was quoted by Antara news agency as saying.

Hatta said the government would help settle problems with farmers.

Later today, the President will also preside over a limited Cabinet meeting to discuss the preparation of the Asian Beach Games that will be held in Bali from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26. (rid)
