Traffic light woes across the city, motorists beware: TMC

Several traffic lights were reportedly down, causing congestion in several junctions in Jakarta, the Jakarta Police Traffic Management Center reported Monday morning.

Central Jakarta, the report added, was the only area unscathed by recent technical glitches.

Motorists are advised to avoid the following junctions:

South Jakarta:

1. Pondok Indah 2. Penerbangan 3. Ahmad Dahlan 4. Ampera, Mampang 5. Gandaria Apartment 6. Mayestik 7. Lebak Bulus 8. Pondok Pinang 9. Adityawarman

East Jakarta:

1. Cipinang Jaya 2. Polonia 3. Taman Mini Indonesia Recreation Park

West Jakarta:

1. Jl. Wadas 2. Jl.Pengumben 3. Jembatan Besi 4. Intercom 5. Srengseng 6. Cengkareng Barat

North Jakarta:

1. Pluit Junction 2. Jl. Baru Ancol 3. Bintang Mas

You should try coming to Bali...at least half the traffic lights are always down and there seems little enthusiasm for fixing them. It's not unusual to arrive at an intersection to find all green bulbs blown (as they may have been for weeks) and everyone operating on guesswork.
