Drug seized at airport

Security officers seized 99.05 grams crystal methamphetamine smuggled through a postal delivery package, at a cargo warehouse at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

"The drug was found by airport security officers who were conducting routine checks in the cargo warehouse on Wednesday," Eko Darmanto, chief of intelligence at the airport's customs office, said Thursday.

According to Eko, the drug was sent from Jakarta by a man identified as LL to Jessica in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"We have handed down the case and evidence to the airport police, but we have not yet received reports whether the police has managed to picked up the sender," Eko said, adding that he did not know the value of the drug.

Roch. Agus, airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II's security operations head, said it was good that security officers managed to find the drug before it was flown to Makassar.
