President names Aug. 18 Constitution Day

The President has issued a decree naming Aug. 18 of every yearConstitution Day.
The Antara news agency reported on Friday that the decree wassigned Sept. 10 and that the copy of the decree was distributedto members of the House of Representatives.
In the decree, the President said Aug. 18 was chosen as it wasthe date when in 1945, the Indonesian Independence PreparationCommittee officially accepted the draft constitution.
The day, however, is not a public holiday, the decree said.(and)
