Critics make Titi Kamal cry

TITI KAMAL: (JP/R. Berto Wedhatama)

JAKARTA: Not many people can take criticism. Actress Titi Kamal is no exception.

The 27-year-old actress broke into tears when a journalist criticized her latest role in a new religious-theme movie Doa Yang Mengancam (Threatened Prayer) after a press screening of the film.

The journalist criticized her role as Leha in the movie as a mere "sweetener" and commented that her acting was bad.

Without saying a word, tears were rolling from her eyes and not long after that she left the press conference.

Titi, who gained popularity through her role as Patrice in the film Mendadak Dangdut (Suddenly Dangdut) and Eiffel I'm in Love, starred in the movie directed by Hanung Bramantyo of Ayat-Ayat Cinta (Love Verses) fame.

However, Titi said that she is always serious whatever role she plays because she loves acting.

"I am always serious in every role, even when I am given a small one," Titi told Okezone.com on Wednesday.-- JP
