Glass door breaks at Senayan City

JAKARTA: A glass door at the south lobby of Senayan City shopping center suddenly broke into pieces Sunday afternoon. There were no casualties in the incident, according to a Senayan City public relations officer.

The door broke when the mall was holding a string of events, including a midnight sale, to celebrate its second anniversary.

Senayan City public relations and tenant communications manager, Sri Ayu Ningsih, said the mall's operational and maintenance division daily checked the mall's facilities.

"We are still checking and investigating the cause of the broken door, but it was probably because the glass expanded," Ayu told The Jakarta Post.

"We will be more careful and improve our service. Because it's about our customers' safety and comfort," she said. -JP
