SEMARANG, C. Java: Nur Asrori, a prisoner of Kembang Kuning Prison in Nusakambangan Island, Cilacap, Central Java, escaped from the penitentiary, Wednesday, after buying a meal to break the fast, just near the prison compound.
The head of the Central Java Office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Bambang Margono, said that Asrori was convicted as the result of a fraud case in Temanggung two years ago. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail.
Bambang said that Asrori actually would normally be released next January 15, 2009.
“His record is good. We posted him to clean the office here. It means that we have trusted him,” he added.
Unfortunately, Asrori fled from the prison after buying a meal to break the fast in the canteen, near the penitentiary area. — JP
