Police shot one in a drug raid

JAKARTA: A Jakarta Police narcotics officer shot an alleged marijuana dealer in Depok early Wednesday for resisting arrest.

“We shot him in the leg,” division head Sr. Comr. Arman Depari told reporters Wednesday.

Police got a tip from neighborhood residents in Jati Parung, Bogor, indicating the suspect, Sophian, 32, was selling marijuana to buyers from Jakarta.

An undercover officer contacted him and ordered five kilograms of marijuana for Rp 10 million (US$1,075). — JP
