JAKARTA: The transportation agency will install an automatic gate on one of the city's busway routes as a part of pilot project to stop private vehicles from entering the exclusive lanes.
M. Tauchid Tjakra Amidjaja, head of the transportation agency, said the automatic gate would be installed on Jl. Kwitang along Corridor 5 running from Kampung Melayu to Ancol.
"The gate, which will be put in place after Idul Fitri, has been provided by an investor, PT Limo. We chose the spot to make it easier to monitor how the device fares," Tauchid said.
The gate will only open when an external sensor detects a Transjakarta bus approaching, he added. In an emergency, the gate can be operated from inside the busway.
The agency chose to install the gates after private vehicles repeatedly used the exclusive busway lanes, causing congestion along Transjakarta corridors.- JP

So, now that scoff-law who drives the jeep with 'COOL'(laugh) military license plates cannot be lazy and above the law anymore?
That's a shame. Now his dirty Jeep will be spraying black exhaust on us little 'ordinary' people who must follow all of the Republic's laws.
Other than that, hope it works to keep people 'a little bit' more equal.
