The Democrat Party and the Golkar Party have not held discussions over the possibility to jointly support the President and the vice president, Yusuf Kalla said Monday.
However, Kalla said, he was comfortable working as vice president to Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"Of course I feel comfortable with him. We have been together for four years," he said after the afternoon prayer at a Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque near his residence Monday, as quoted by Antara news agency.
Yudhoyono told reporters for the first time Sunday that he would run again, teaming up with Kalla as he was the most possible option so far.
"In time we will decide. I think Pak SBY is also like that. For me, it doesn't matter what my role is as long as I can contribute to this nation," Kalla said.
The couple is the republic's first directly elected president and vice president, winning the election in 2004 against candidates such as the then president Megawati Sukarnoputri and 1998 reform hero Amien Rais. (and)
