46 killed on West Java roads in a week

A total of 46 people were killed on West Java roads during the week leading to Idul Fitri, the police said.
West Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Dade Achmad said Tuesday that the police recorded a total of 49 street accidents during the past week, killing 46 people, seriously injuring 29 others and causing material losses of around Rp 136 million.
"Most of the accidents occurred in Subang and Indramayu, with one accident causing the death of more than 5 people," Dade was quoted by Antara news agency as saying.
He said most of the accidents involved motorcycles, adding that "Most of them are caused by human error." (rid)
