Fransisca advances solo in Macau Open

Fransisca Ratnasari became the only member of Indonesia's women team to advance in the Macau Gold Open Grand Prix after beating Hong Kong's Mong Kwan Yi in straight sets 21-11, 21-12 Wednesday.
In the next round, Fransisca will face Netherlands' top seed, Chinese-born Yao Jie, who defeated Yeung Nga Ting from Taiwan,

Indonesian women's singles player, Aprilia Yuswandari, bowed down to Julia Wong from Malaysia 12-21, 17-21. Similarly, Melicia Kurniawan was helpless against Yip Pui Yin from Hong Kong, with the match ending 21-8, 21-11.
In the mixed-double match, Thontowi Ahmad/Yulianti, nailed Malaysia's double, Goh Wei Shem/Ng Poau Leng, 21-16, 21-19. Ahmad and Yulianti will face China's Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei next match.
Indonesian men's doubles, Fernando Kurniawan/Lingga Lie, will also play for a quarterfinals spot after defeating Malaysia's Kuan kam Ching/Iskandar Zulkarnaen Zainuddin 21-18, 21-19. Their upcoming contender will be Malaysia's Chan Peng Soon/Lim Khim Wah. (and)
