Customs officials at Soekarno-Hatta airport captured two Taiwanese men who were attempting to smuggle 340 grams of crystal-methamphetamine and 5.78 kilograms of Ketamine into the country on Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference after their arrest, the head of the airport customs office, Rahmat Subagio, said the drugs were estimated to be worth Rp 6.1 billion (US$646,000) on the local market.

"The perpetrators are YLT, aged 40, and CCW, also 40. Both of them are Taiwanese nationals. This was their first entry into Indonesia," Rahmat said, as quoted by Antara state news agency.

The pair had arrived in Jakarta on a Cathay Pacific flight and had hidden the drugs in their luggage, disguised inside food packaging, Rahmat said.

The drugs were intended for a dealer somewhere in West Jakarta, he added.

For their violation, the pair could be charged with up to 10 years in prison and Rp 300 million in fines. (and)

Give him Death Penalty !!!

Indonesia has the death penalty for drugs, and yet these people still attempt to smuggle drugs into the country.
Is the money they make smuggling the drugs, worth risking and gambling with their lives?
I wish a drug smuggler could answer me.

The only conclusion I can come to is that alot of people get through the airports with the drugs, and colude with corrupt officials, thats why they take so much chances.
The government should start investigating the police members, and I think that would bring down the drug problem. And more executions for drug dealers should be carried out, as stated at Soekano Hatta Airport "Death Penalty to drug dealers"

The main culprits seems to be the Nigerians, and they give a bad name to some or alot of innocent people from nIGERIA,
