A police officer stops a pickup truck for carrying too many passengers,
in Bekasi, east of Jakarta, on Sunday. During the recent Idul Fitri
holidays, when few buses were available, pickup trucks were permitted
to carry a limited number of passengers, despite safety concerns. (JP/P.J. Leo)

There is no question about the cost for society by the victims of such worn in but highly risky behaviour. The taxpayer has to pay for the loss in workforce and the aid apllied to the victims of traffic accidents. This is the cause of all safety regulations: its the cheaper way!
But what the heck can start people thinking who are riding with God?
I don't know.
So the police is well adviced to persecute offenders of this kind and not to accept a "familial solution" when the press is not watching.

The sheer stupidity of these morons is mind boggling with no regard whatever for safety, the driver should be jailed.
