Family ran over by a truck

A family of three was killed after their motorcycle was run over by a load truck on Jalan Raya Cileungsi-Gunung Putri in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Erwin, 34, his wife Nani, 26 and their daughter Fani, 6. The family, who were residents of Srengseng in Bekasi, were on their way to visit a relative in Bogor.

Witnesses said the family was riding behind the truck when Erwin tried to overtake it from the right. However, the truck's thick black exhaust prevented him from seeing another vehicle in the opposite lane.

Erwin was unable to avoid the crash. The motorcycle hit the other vehicle and fell under the truck.

"The truck's driver was too late to react. He stopped after the victims were run down," said Irfan, one of the witnesses, as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com. (dre)
