Thai PM cancels visit to Indonesia

New Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat has canceled a visit to Indonesia because of the political situation in Thailand, a Foreign Ministry official said. "Today we received the official information that the forthcoming Thai premier's visit has been canceled," Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Imron Cotan told The Jakarta Post on Friday evening. Somchai was scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on Oct. 22 as part of his Southeast Asian introductory tour. He has also canceled his trips to Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. -- JP
