S. Jakarta to see more hard rain, hail

JAKARTA: Hard rains are expected to strike South Jakarta, Depok and Pamulang through the end of November, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) reported.

"We are looking at the possibility of bursts of heavy rain accompanied by high winds and lightning in South Jakarta," said Kukuh Ribudiyanto from BMG, as quoted by detik.com on Sunday.

"Some parts of the municipality, like Pasar Minggu and Pamulang got a taste of this kind of rain on Saturday," he said.

Kukuh said the severe weather marked the transitional period from dry to rainy seasons.

He added other municipalities, namely North Jakarta, would experience similar downpours in December. -- JP
