GLOBAL HAND-WASHING DAY

Hundreds of elementary students communally wash their hands at Wisma Aldiron, Pancoran, Jakarta in commemorating Global Hand-Washing Day on Wednesday. The UNICEF-sponsored event is aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of washing hands prior to and after eating in an effort to quell the number of diarrhoea-related deaths (JP/J.
