JAMBI, Jambi: Jambi's provincial prosecutor's office will soon summon members and former members of the city legislative council over their alleged involvement in the Purnabakti pension fund graft case, an official said.

"We will soon summon them. But we have not decided the precise date to do so yet," the prosecutor's office head Ramaidag said Thursday.

Ramaidag said under existing laws the prosecutor's office should first obtain a permit from the governor in order to question the council members.

Jambi Mayor Arifien Manaf said his administration had handed over the case to the prosecutor's office.

The council approved the allocation of Rp 4 billion (US$408,000) from the city budget to the Purnabakti fund. Each member received Rp 100 million even though the law forbids them from having access to the funds. -- JP
