Six regencies in West Java will hold elections to appoint new local leaders on Sunday. The regencies are: Majalengka, Cirebon, Subang, Ciamis, Garut and Banjar.
Although the elections will be managed by local election commissions, the West Java Provincial election commission is deploying its officials to monitor the elections and ensure safe and successful elections.
"Generally, the election commissions in the regencies are ready," West Java election commission head Ferry Kurnia Rizkiansyah said on Saturday as quoted by

Ferry said that while he was concerned by internal problems in some of the regency election commissions, he was still optimistic that the elections would run smoothly.
