A team of lawyers representing three terrorists currently waiting for death penalty execution was spotted at a port in Cilacap, Central Java, on Saturday morning heading for a state penitentiary in Nusakambangan island.
Team member Hasyim Abdullah told reporters at the port that they were planning to seek confirmation whether their clients had received a dossier on their death penalty. According to an Indonesian law, a notification letter on the exact date of a death penalty should be given to the convicted three days prior to the execution date.
Earlier on Thursday, deputy attorney general for general crimes Abdul Hakim Ritonga said the death penalty could be carried out as early as Saturday and Nov. 20 at the latest. On the same day, another member of the team of lawyers claimed that the execution would be carried out on Nov. 7.
Hasyim said the prosecutors seemed serious with their execution plan as seen from the increase in security and activity in the island.
“Judging from the condition, it seems that they are serious. But we don’t want to speculate,” he said as quoted by

Hasyim added that the family members of the convicted terrorists would pay their last visit before the execution. (and)
