even though this has long past, i would like to express my condolences.
I agree with the point stated above/before that the message of God should be "love" instead of "hatred"
Let us all pray that something like this will never happen again

This is the ancient law, the Barbarian Law that was replaced
by the Indonesia Penal Code System based on Social Contract.

Reading News Corner's comment - I just don't get why people are generalizing too much. There you are, sitting there thinking it's all the US' fault. But don't you think what these Bali bombers did giving Islam a really bad name? It's not eye for an eye game, my friend. That game is only for the uneducated.
The Iraq war (and other war in Afghanistan and other places around the world that involves the US) I'm sure has its own political agenda or monetary gain (for oil, territory, combating terrorists) - but I believe it is not related to the religion (ie because they are Islam).
On the other hand, what these bombers did was downright terrorism. These people did what they did to create fear amongst the westerners (and Indonesians, for that matter, alike) and deliberately attack the civilians/ non-combatants (For goodness' sake it's a club not a war zone!). And the worst of all is they call it a Jihad. A holy war. What's holy with killing the innocents?
The execution of Amrozi et al will only do this country good. The over-exposure by the media to anything related to them and their action won't. Any publicity is good publicity, right?
Im not a fan of capital punishment either but people like them are "mentally ill" (in my opinion) and will only do more harm if they're being let alive only to spread more hate and animosity.
But at the end of the day, they're dead. It is now their problem dealing with The Above for what they've done. I have faith in this country and with the educated, non-extrimist Muslims in this country - so there is hope. Like the old saying - "Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita runtuh." It is a choice for us to make.

I agree, Yuni!
It is terrible that a group of people believe that they have the right to murder others.
Moral education starts in the home. Parents should be the first ones to teach & demonstrate to the children that violence is never acceptable, whatever their religions are.
The bombers' ignorance became so obvious in their CNN interviews. Don't Indonesians have their own identities & cultures? What happened to the culture-rich, law-abiding, gentle, helpful & mind-my-own-business Indonesians?
Events in the middle east are not relevant to Indonesia or any other Asian countries. Middle east is in a mess because both sides are using violence & revenge to hurt one another. It is sooooo obvious it does not work.
Again, what has it got to do with Indonesians?

It is unbelievable, very sad, and also INFURIATING that there are Indonesians who support these scum.
The actions of Mukhlas, Samudra and Amrozi caused very many people throughout the world to **HATE** Islam and (especially in Australia) to hate Indonesia. That is unfortunate because I know that most Indonesians are friendly (I visited Java most recently only a few weeks ago). But if you Indonesians generally oppose what these fanatics did, why don't you DO something to stop the spreading of this mad hate?
I am a Christian who really believes the message that God is love (not fear, not vindictiveness and retaliation, not hate). But I am astounded at how I have been so diminished as a human being by my reaction to the murderous hatred pursued by these three bombers. I don't generally support the death penalty, but these three most richly deserved it. They were a *&^% waste of space. And Samudra's will, calling for indiscriminate murder of "kaffirs" (non-Muslims) is mentally deranged and **EVIL**.
The Indonesian Government will continue to be regarded with anger and contempt while it continues to allow their mentor to keep on preaching sermons full of hate - the contemptible ranter Abu Bakar Bashir (who I would rather call Bashir bin Babi Bakar).
The greatest tragedy in the history of Indonesia was its incorporation in the Dar-al-Islam. When pursued in the way of these jihadi fanatics, it is a vile, mediaeval, repressive and thoroughly offensive religion. The West cannot live with this mindless violent stupidity and should not tolerate it. Do the jihadi fanatics want me to sing Onward Christian Soldiers?

Agree with Scot. Two points need to be considered here. One, do you know what went on in Bali night clubs? (I seem to know some of what went on!) Second, the eye for an eye approach practised by some religious extremists were detested by most westerners. Then why did we demand the same? There is no difference between us & them.

I think thus who support the bombers do not understand to whats actually happening. They had a very limit information delivered to them and got overwhelming on religion consideration. I think I should tell them how big world is and make them for not think to waste time by doing such stupid things like supporting bombers.
Its goverment responsibility to give better information and not to let the nation handle by people who considered as "orang yg dipercaya" like "kyai, pendeta, monk and so on". You see eh, this nation is consist of most low educated fellow and they trust more to thus such of "orang bersih (that wat people said)", but see what happeneed that some of thus "orang bersih" delivered incomplete information that ends with misundertanding and missperception that make people think that the bombers are hero. Its just too disgusting to think about it. Its just like humiliating our nation. Thank GOD million times that the bombers have eventually gone to the hell forever.
