Corruption watchdog resumes questioning SBY's inlaw

The Corruption Erradication Commission (KPK) resumes investigation of former Bank Indonesia (BI) deputy governor Aulia Tantowi Pohan in relation to the misuse of Rp 100 billion (Rp 9.3 billion) of central bank funds.

Aulia Pohan is also President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono son's father-in law.

Three other suspects, Maman H. Soemantri, Aslim Tajuddin, and Bun Bunan Hutapea, would also undergo questioning today, KPK spokesman Johan Budi told tempointeraktif.com by phone.

The four suspects have underwent questioning since last Monday.

In related cases, former BI governor Burhanuddin Abdullah was recently sentenced by the corruption court to five years in prison for approving the illegal disbursement of funds to a number of former BI officials and legislators.

State prosecutors have demanded the court sentence other BI officials Rusli Simanjutak and Oey Hoey Tiong to six years behind bars. Similarly, lawmakers Hamka Yandhu and Anthony Zeidra Abidin are also facing corruption charges and are facing trial.
