JAKARTA: After two days of an unbeaten run, Indonesia's women's and men's teams were thwarted in the fourth round of the Chess Olympics in Dresden, Germany late on Sunday.

The women's team was silenced by top seed Russia in a 4-0 whitewash, while the men's team fell to Costa Rica 3-1.

"This is not the day (for us to win)," Indonesian team manager Riskie Dharma Putra said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post

"This defeat should be a reminder for our players to be disciplined in their training," Riskie added.

The women's team upset Greece 2.5-1.5 earlier on Saturday, while the men's team defeated Afghanistan 3.5-0.5.--JP
