BANJARNEGARA, C. Java: At least 29 students of SDN 3 Karangkobar state elementary school in Karangkobar district, Banjarnegara regency in Central Java contracted food poisoning on Monday after consuming sausage sold in front of the school.

Fourteen of those poisoned lost consciousness while studying in class.

The school's principal, Sumarjito, disclosed that he had to suspend classes as a result. The school and local police officers are still searching for the sausage vendor.

"After we bring them to the clinic, we at least know that the students were poisoned by sausage they bought from a vendor in front of the school before classes began," said Sumarjito, adding that they faced difficulty finding the sausage seller as he always moves around. -- JP
