The Citarum River breached its banks Thursday causing flooding in 4,000 houses in the Baleendah, Dayeuhkolot and Majalengka region.
"This flood is bigger than the previous one, just look at the water level in the Citarum. It's obviously higher than a few days ago," Komarudin, a resident of Cieunteung Baleendah village told Antara news agency.
The recent inundation of West Java's longest river has also submerged several major arteries in Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot, including the Bandung-Dayeuhkolot-Banjaran route, though traffic is still unaffected.
"If it pours heavily again this evening, the flooding is going to get even worse," Komarudin said.
Antara reported the height of the flood waters in Cieunteung Baleendah at between 50 and 200 centimeters. (amr)
