Letter: Telkom's service

My business is in Padang Bai, Bali. I pay Telkom an average of Rp 687.636 (US$57) per month. We have no internet for two and three days at a time and when we do, it drops out every two or three minutes!

When my manager rang to ask what was the problem, he was told it was our computer or the line.

Then they hung up. The number we called was 0361147, a local Telkom agency at Mangis.

This problem was not just confined to us but affected all of Padang Bai! We were looking at signing up for Speedy-adsl with Telkom, but, if this is the type of service we can expect, we may look for other alternatives.

I have been told that I should contact The Jakarta Post to warn other people of this service and possibly save them money. This is not something I wish to do as I'm sure Telkom can fix the problem.
