Is it a true symbol of a closer relationship between Indonesia and Australia after experiencing bad ties during Howard's term or just another sign that Australia will stir up Indonesia by the shoes?

The elastic sided boots are worn by Farmers and stockmen. Stockmen are similar to cowboys in North American culture.
In Australia we all associate strongly with farmers and people who work on the land. They are listened to more than other people and are given more respect then other people.
It is a gift of traditional clothing. The boots are not expensive. It is just symbolism or a gesture - a nice friendly gesture.
